Abdurahman El-Awa – known to patients as Abs – is a consultant in oral surgery who has a special interest in dental implants and bone grafting procedures. He holds membership in the faculty of dental surgery with the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and is chair of the oral surgery managed clinical network (MCN) for South Yorkshire and Bassetlaw NHS.
He is also highly experienced in endodontic surgery and carries out sedation dentistry for our more nervous patients.
Abs qualified from Cairo University in 2003 and moved to the UK, where he completed higher specialist training in oral surgery. He has trained at Glasgow Dental School, Glasgow Southern General Hospitals, Sheffield Dental School, Sheffield University Hospitals and Royal Derby Hospitals.
Abs was a consultant oral surgeon at Manchester Teaching Hospitals and is now a consultant at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals, where he passes on his extensive knowledge and expertise to the next generation of undergraduate and postgraduate dentists.
In his spare time, Abs enjoys the trails around Sheffield, scuba diving and fishing.
