Implant retained dentures are held in place by a set of implants that are affixed to the jaw, instead of via a bonding agent as is the case with more traditional sets of dentures. Many patients report finding implant retained dentures more comfortable and secure, as there is no danger of slippage.
We will first have to ascertain if you’re a suitable candidate for the treatment, as implant retained dentures require a healthy jawbone to be successful. Once this has been established, we’ll fit you for your implant retained dentures over several appointments. There will be a pause of several months in between affixing the implants and applying the prosthetic teeth to give the implants time to properly fuse with the jawbone.
You should expect the treatment to take between four and seven months from start to finish.
