A root canal treatment is designed to remove any infection found at the root of the tooth. The interior of the tooth is also often referred to as the ‘dental pulp’, and can become infected due to damage, trauma, or decay.
First, we will use a local anaesthetic, so you don’t feel a thing. We will then remove the infection present in the dental pulp, disinfect the tooth, and seal it back up again. Depending on the damage present in the tooth, we may also have to fit you with a crown to ensure the full functionality of the tooth is restored.
